Speedlane 2000 Turbo

Web Optimizer

Netscape Bookmarks
Internet Explorer Favorites

The Web Optimizer can speed up access to all the pages on the servers referenced in your browser by 1-2 seconds. If you want this feature, check the checkbox next to your browser.
Speedlane will then lookup each server and note its internal number in the C:\Windows\hosts file.
Your browser will then be able to look up any page on these servers, instead of asking the Internet's DNS system for the internal number every time.

Update all automatically

From time to time the Web Optimizer will look up all the optimized servers and note any moved or missing servers. If this would not be done, a moved server could become unreachable. If you ever experience an unreachable server, run Speedlane manually. You can, as a last resort, also delete the C:\Windows\hosts file.

Speed access to these servers

Here you can enter server names manually. You could enter the POP and SMTP servers from your mail program as well as servers that you use often, but that are not referenced in the bookmarks or favorites. Enter only the server name, i.e. speedlane.com or mail.earthlink.com and do not reference pages as in speedlane.com/index.html.
